A Blender Compositor Node that tries to make it as easy as possible to post-process renders that are meant to look photorealistic.

Jet it still includes all compositing effects that are typically used in a professional workflow, such as: Glare, Noise, Chromatic aboration, vignetting, Sharpening or softening and adjust colors in a simple and intuitive way.

It's all build in nested nodes group that can be separately deployed

New Features


Smart Glare Control


Glare strength is now automatically adjusted based on the dynamic range of the image, without clamping highlights or temporal inconsistency.
(works best in linear colorspace eg. Raw Renders before export)


Accurate Film Grain


2 new noise generators including Sensor Noise and Film Grain, the latter accurately simulates grain halation and film softening. With 3 quick presets for quick deployment and 5 texture sliders for precise control.


Color-specific saturation and brightness settings

Control Saturation and Brightness for each color separately. Using 8 Hue Bands you can easily boost/mute the colors just where you need it. No need to set up clunky masks.


Frequency sharpening


A new way to optimize detail in images. Frequency sharpening
 Band-pass filters the image in 6 frequency bands. Where you can sharpen or soften the image in those Frequencies only.

Clarity Control
 & Texture Boost


Controls contrast and texture emphasizing the midtones of the image.







Q&A:


How do I use the node in my owl files?

  • In the file you want to use it in.
  • Navigate to the top left. Under file, go to Append.
  • Locate the Easy Photorealism_node.blend.
  • Open it an go to NodeTree and select Easy Photorealism 2.0. Press Append or enter.
  • Then go to the Compositing Tab or open a new Area with the compositor. make sure Use Nodes is turned on.
  • Add a new node (shift+A) and under Group select Photorealism 2.0 or just search for it

How do I use it once it's added to the composition tab?

  • You can toggle all the different functions with the checkmark at their name if you don't need them, this will save performance.
  • Most of the Sliders have explaining text when you hover over it.
  • And the default setting are dialed in so that it looks best in the most common scenarios.

What do all the words mean?

  • Glare: Simulate a photographic artifact caused by light reflecting off lens elements.Looks like haze, bloom, or Lens flares Depending on context.
  • Vignetting:Change the Brighness of the Edges of the Image to draw interest to the center and to frame the center portion of the photo, Or simulate a Wrongly fitted Lens.
  • Lens Distortion:optical distortion Caused by imperfect Lenses. inlcues chromatic aberration(Color Fringing) and GoPRO stile Barrel Distortion.
  • Noise:Adds realistic Noise Back to the Image. Recommended to use after denoising
  • Sharpen / Soften:Digitaly Sharpen or Soften the image by using image convolution
  • Color Management:Change the Colors or Grade the Image. most of this will happen after the other Efects
